Casa de la Esperanza. A House of Hope.

Your Mission Trip

James 1:27 “Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their trouble and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.”

During the summer, spring break and holiday seasons, a growing number of groups visit Casa to spend time with the children as well as bring financial resources towards the sponsorship of needed physical improvements at Casa. We are excited that you are thinking about a trip to visit us at Casa de la Esperanza. The fact that you are considering a mission trip demonstrates that God is working on your heart.  You will be blessed by your visit to Casa, if Christ is the focus and if you have the heart of a servant. Also, be prepared to expand your comfort zone a little and allow yourself to grow in Christ through your service to some of God’s special children in Mexico. In effect you will be carrying out one of the Scriptures’ greatest statements about religion found in the book of James 1: 27: “Religion that God the Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after the orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”

Although you will be having many new experiences on this trip, there is no doubt about your reason for being here—to serve the children at Casa de la Esperanza, and to let them experience Christ through your service to them.  Plan to work hard—physically, mentally, and spiritually.  Pray that you will be able to leave behind all of your personal struggles and use the time that you have here to focus your mind and heart on this mission that God has led you to be a part of.

Your visit to Casa will bring you many new experiences that will be different from home. There will be times when your comfort zone is expanded because of opportunity to experience the differences in language, customs, food, or other everyday events.  You may be asked to try something that you have never tried before. Adopt the attitude that God has brought you to this place at this time to learn new skills and to see His world and His children in a new light.
